Coretta Scott King Award Winners
Established in 1969, this award commemorates the life and work of the late Martin Luther King, Jr., and his wife, Coretta Scott King. Originally presented annually to an African-American author for a work embodying the principals that guided Dr. King, it has since 1979 also honored an African-American illustrator.
