Building Project Plans

These computer-generated views show progression in the design of the library to this point. The West view (above) shows latest developments (12-4-06) of the Main Entry Portico to make it look less imposing and overstated. (See Detail). The Reedsdale Road view (below) shows Schwartz/Silver Architects commitment to the materials and geometry of the 1902 building, while adding a contemporary feeling with more generous windows.

Note on Computer Generated Graphics: Since these are neither photos nor artist renderings, some of the detail of the current building is lost, such as the medallion above the front entry, which we actually plan to clean and preserve. The limestone-equivalent block comprising the addition will have the same scale and look as the Indiana Limestone block on the 1902 building.
